Sugarfoot is a band project formed by long-time musical
partners Øyvind Holm & Hogne Galåen. After four
albums
of 60s influenced psych pop together in the band Deleted
Waveform Gatherings, they both felt an urge to step aside for
a moment to explore their common love for folk-rock and
country music.

Armstrong’s voice reminds me of Sugar and track one fits comfortably in that realm, but there's more to this band than throwback. Prolific bandmate Davis compliments with performances and songwriting that differ enough to elevate the sound without creating contrast that disrupts the continuity of so many great records with two strong writers. As usual, strong production from Purcell rides a line between reverence and experimentation for an easy listen that never seems stale or unchallenging.
