Nerve Salad This album has been with me on more road trips than I can count. An album for any situation, it never ceases to impress me. Impossible to pick a favorite song on any Sugarfoot album, and this one is no exception. Favorite track: Tiger Rider.

about

On the 27th May Sugarfoot released their third album, «Different Stars». Whereas the band’s first two outings both were recorded under safe, familiar conditions back home in Trondheim, Norway, they all felt it was time for a different approach this time around. Several suggestions were laid on the table, but recording an album out in California seemed to be the idea that resonated best with the group.

Through helpful contacts the band got in touch with David Catching (Eagles of Death Metal), and a few months later they found themselves recording at his studio Rancho De La Luna, in Joshua Tree, California.
Despite its somewhat remote location out in the Mojave Desert, the list of artists that have recorded at the Rancho is both impressive and growing as we speak. However, according to band member Øyvind Holm, this was not the only reason for recording there.

“It’s easy to be blinded by the Rancho’s track record, but just as important for us was experiencing the California we had read about in books, heard on records and seen on documentaries about many of our favorite artists. A lot of the music we love, and that has played an essential part in our own musical upbringing, was written and recorded out there.
Sugarfoot returned from Joshua Tree with fourteen new recordings in their bag. Nine of theses will appear on “Different Stars”. “Tiger Rider” is the first single off the album. Enjoy!

a moment to explore their common love for folk-rock and
country music.
